EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD ” AUGUST 3, 1907.
Exports from New Zealand for the quar ter ended Juno 30 had been valued at £4,841.983, an increase of £35,339 over the corresponding period of the previous year. There bad been a long spell of dry weather throughout the Colony and there wero shortages of feed and water for stock. The Agricultural Conference had decided to lend assistance in the promotion of a Royal Show. It had also been decided to urge that Government assistance he given to farmers in the improving of the carrying capacity of their land. The Imperial Dry Milk Factory at Bunnythrope had decided to pay la per lb butterfat' for August and September suppiios. Building operations had been booming in Sydney, and work valued at £2,030,000 had been in hand.
