(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Aug. 2. During July rain felt locally on lu days, a total of .78,m being recorded. The maximum daily fall was ,3in, on the 22nd. The hottest day was the 12th, with a temperature of 61 degrees, and the coldest day the 7th, with o 7 degrees. The vital statistics' for Foxton for July, with the figures for the corresponding period last year in parentheses, are as follorv: —Births, 4 (3); deaths, 3 J(l); marriages, 2 (3); Maori, births, 2 (1); deaths, 2 (nil). A team from the Herrington Golf Club visited Shanonn during the week-end to participate in an iiuor-club .match, winning by 13 games to 2. Detailed results, Foxton players mentioncl first: —J. D.
