POHANGINA VALLEY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA, Aug. 3.
The annual dance of the Pohangina Cricket Club was an enjoyable function. The hall was just comfortably filled, the assembly being representative of most of the surrounding districts. Led by their capablo secretary, Mr R. Sinclair, the cricketers had spared no efforts when catering for the entertainment. Supper arrangements wore in the hands of an efficient ladiee’ committee. The hall was artistically decorated with streamers and masses of balloons, later in the evening the latter being released to float gently down on the dancers. A Monte Carlo dance was held, the winers being Miss Gray and Mr M. Bailey. Mr W. Howell carried out the duties of M.C. Among the ladies present were: Mesdamcs F. Watson, lavender stiffened net; A. IlarJand, lemon flowered taffeta; M. Maddison, powder blue cloque; A. Smith, red lace; J. White, pink satin; B. White, lemon georgette; M. Donovan, black satin, white tunic; G. Bockett, bottle green matalaese; G. Williams, blue matalasse, white fur coat; T. Montgomery, floral taffeta; J. Scarle, black georgette, and silver; M. Essex, pink matalasse; M. Adams, blue crepe; S. Donaldson, lemon velvet; M. Ilarland, apple green taffeta; L. Khnk, gold satin; E. Roberts, flame georgette; I. Roberts, apricot, satin, brown coatee; A. Wingate, blue taffeta, crushed velvet coatee; T. Gordon, pink georgette and silver lame, brown fur coat; J.
