Middlesex put up the big score of 632 for 8 wickets in the first innings of the county match with Sussex. 01 this total Hendren scored 187 and Human 125. As Sussex innings realised only 101 and 180-respectively, Middlesex had an easy victory. Details are as follow :
Surrey v. Notts. —Surrey: First innings, 264; second innings, 6 for 319 declared (Gregory 124, Holmes 93). Notts: First innings, 9 for 346 • declared (Knowles 90; Squires 5 iqr 58); second innings, none for 97. Notts won on the first innings. Yorkshire v. Lancashire.—Yorkshire : First innings, 246 (Sutcliffe 122 : Pollard 5 for 59); second innings, 168 (Iddon 9 for 42). Lancashire: First innings, 324; second innings, 5 for 91. Lancashire won by five wickets. Sussex v. Middlesex. —Sussex : First innings, 101 (Owen-Smith 5 for 49); second innings, 180 (Owen-Smith 5 tor 83, Sims 4 for 10). Middlesex: First innings, 8 for 632 declared (Hendren 187, Human 125). Middlesex won by an innings and 351 runs. Worcester v. Warwick. —Worcester : First innings, 213 (Mayer 6 for 70): second innings 9 for 334 declared (Quaiff 89). Warwick: First innings. 243 (Croon! 81); second innings, 6 for 262 (Croom 115).
