ZIONIST CONGRESS.
PALESTINE PARTITION PLAN. LONDON, Aug. 3. The Zurich Zionist Congress, attended by 450 delegates from 50eountries, will open to-day, says the Zurich correspondent of the Times. .Hie chief issue is the Royal Commission s Palestine partition plan, on which keen and even violent discussions are Weizmanni p res ident of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland and President of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, publicly appealed to delegates not to reject the plan entirely, saying that this would be unwise at a time when the world for 'the first time was discussing such a term as “the Jewish State.” . Preliminary conferences of various groups indicate that the congress will reject the plan in its present form.
