RANGITIKEI.
MARTON, Aug. 3. Mrs T. Smith, of Te Kuiti, who is visiting relatives in Marton, is the guest of her sister, Mrs L. M. Oldfield, Terrace Street. For many years president of the Marton branch of the Farmers’ Union, of which he was one of the foundation members, a member of the Wellington provincial executive, and a delegate to conference,- Mr G. L. Marshall has tendered his resignation because of the union’s recently-declar-ed platform which, he says, is inimical to the interests of the man on the land, says the Rangitikei Advocate.
