POLITICAL STRIFE.
GANDHI’S CAMPAIGN. India appears to be facing a new period of political strife. and a fresh outbreak of non-co-operation is threatened, although it is not likely to be accompanied by violence. The Inner Congress Cabinet has secretly ordered would-be Congress Premiers in six provinces to take their orders from the Congress Cabinet. Gandhi and Pandit Nelmi will dominate the daily working of the Congress Cabinet, Gandhi is returning to his village retreat at Shegaon, where he is preparing plans for the guidance of the Premiers. It is believed that a deadlock will soon arise over questions which are still outstanding. Gandhi and Pandit Nehru are expected then to launch a civil disobedience campaign against the Constitution. It is reported that Gandhi is preparing a plan of action which will include a policy of non-co-operation without violence.
