HOUSEHOLD HINTS.
If potatoes and other vegetables .ire placed in a colander and pee'ed' under running wate'r, the fingers will not become stained. A teaspoon of butter added to a custard made-from custard powder will | counter-balance the taste of cornflour, .and add a delightful smoothness. When making sponges, break the eggs on the sugar an hour before you are ready. Stir them a little, blit do not be-it. This melts the sugar and saves time. Use a fork.
