PASSING SHOIVERS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 4. Yesterday’s depression has passed eastwards off the Dominion and barometers have risen somewhat. An intense anticyclone is advancing across southern Australia, but a number of secondary depressions is still apparently moving over the south Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate to strong southerly winds, veering temporarily to westerlies. Weather: Changeable with occasional passing showers. Temperatures cool. Seas moderate to rather rough and increasing at times. RIVER GAUGF. AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon. —2ft. 9in.
