LIKELY SKIPPER OF ALL BLACKS.

MITCHELL OUT FOR A MONTH. POSSTBLY THE SEASON. DUNEDIN, Aug. 2. Mitchell, the likely choice as captain of the New Zealand team, will he out of the game for at least a month. The injury which he received in the trial matches at Wellington recurred on Saturday. It is a torn ligament in the back of the thigh, and the only course of action is complete rest. Mitchell was troubled by the same complaint last season, and although he has been having intensive treatment since the Wellington trials he has now no alternative but to give the game up. It is very doubtful if he will play again this season.
