MANAWATU HUNT.

BALL AT FEILDING. • The annual hall of the Manawatu Hunt Club was held at the Drill Hall, Feikling, last night. The club’3 area extends as far south as Levin and as far north as Kimbolton, and visitors were present from Wanganui, Marton, Waikanae, Foxton and Palmerston North. The music was played by a professional orchestra and the floor was in excellent condition. Those responsible for the success of the ball are: Mesdames F. J. .Thompson (Levin), who wore black diagonal striped taffeta with diamante trimmings; H. Beatson, purple_ silk- velvet; Cousins, navy lace with cerise; G. Hall, floral taffeta and coronation net; J. J. Waller, powder blue lace and blue ring velvet coat; Crooks, brown marocam with tangerine trimmings; M, Hall, pink lace and green velvet coat; J. Cousins, floral taffeta; S. G. Perry, L. H. Collinson, S. Hall, A. W. McDonald, T. R. Taylor, W. E. Taylor E. E. Cousins, S. Mcßeth, S. H. Lodge, R. W. Buchanan, B. Perry a.nd R. Perry. The men’6 committee consisted of the president, Dr. S. J. Thompson (Levin), Messrs J J. Waller, C. H. Banks, 0. Perry. A. W. McDonald, 1. R. Taylor, W. E. Taylor. R, Brown, E. Cousins, 0. Burrell, B. A. Scott, A. Hobson. S. H. Lodge and N. Thompson. Mrs T. R. Taylor supervised the decorations and was assisted by a band of helpers. Mrs H. Beatson was in charge of the supper arrangements. Green and red streamers were used in tho liall decorations. Massed balloons in the same two shades hung from a light canopy composed of graceful trains of streamers. Shaded streamers surrounded the lights at the corners of the building, and gleaming horseshoes, hunting scenes and ferns were spaced along the white walls, giving the impression of a. hunting lodge. Glittering silver and crystal adorned the cables in the supper room. The club’6 trophies were used to hold the floiver decorations. Among those present were: iU’D-os P. When making starch paste for mounting purposes, add a tew drops of turpentine as a preservative.
