COLLISION NEAR BAINESSE.
CAR AND TRUCK. In a collision between a motor car and a light truck near Bainesse, a.bout 2.15 a.m. yesterday, Mr Brian Charles Cummerfield, of Foxton, suffered injuries to an arm and was brought to the Palmerston North Hospital. It was reported to-day that his condition was improving. The car, driven by Mr H. Holroyde, of Ferguson Street, was returning from Oha-u, where the five occupants had attended a dance. The others in the car were Messrs C. Cater (Weston Avenue), H. Bell (Broadway Avenue), L. G. Loveday (Argyle Avenue) and M. Reid (Puriri Terrace). Those in the truck, which turned on its side, were the driver, Mr Neil Edward Cummerfield, plumber, of Foxton, and his wife; Mr William Porter, grocer, of Foxton; and Mr Brian Charles Cummerfield. Mr Porter suffered a cut on the head.
