NEW RECORD.

MEAT AND BUTTER. PRODUCTION IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Aug. 4. A big increase in exports of butter from the Auckland province and a further advance in meat exports is shown in the annual returns of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company. The butter shipments and the turnover in certain classes of meat have set new records. As the whole of the Auckland export of dairy produce goes through the company’s grading stores, the figures released are a complete index of the export position. Last year, for the first time, the butter handled by the company’s organisation exceeded 100,000 tons. This year the figure has boon raised to 108.174 tons — : a striking indication of the sizo and importance of the dairy industry of the province. The figures for cheese also show an increase, although they are somewhat below those of two years ago. Taking cheese and butter together, the total value of dairy produce to the Auckland province for the past season probably exceeds £13,000,000. EXPANSION IN PRODUCTION. The steady rise in primary production is clearly revealed in the following comparisons : DAIRY PRODUCE GRADED.
