A particularly dense fog was experienced near Hastings on Wednesday, proving very troublesome to motorists returning from the Springbok match at Palmerston North. In the vicinity of the Pukahu swamp visibility was 60 poor that, an hour and aquarter were required to traverse the final twelve miles into Hastings, which itself was enveloped.
