In a village of the Dobruja, in Rumania, where the peasants had been praying for rain, hopes were raised when a huge dark cloud appeared on the horizon. It turned out, however, to be a. cloud of locusts, which landed on their fields and overnight destroyed every green thing over an area of several square miles.
