PIGS, POULTRY AND PRODUCE. The Dominion Auctioneering Company, Palmerston North, report receiving a small yarding of pigs at their weekly fair held on Thursday, prices showing a small improvement on last week’s rates. Poultry again was in heavy supply, a total clearance being made at the under-mentioned rates. They quote as follows : Pigs.—Good weaners, 13s to 16s 6d; small weaners, from 8s to 11s 6d; slips, to 235; light porkers, 30s 6d to 345; light baconers, 50s. Poultry. —Best W.L. hens, from 3s to 4s 6d per pair; light hens, from 2s to 2s lOd per pair-; heavy hens, from 4s 6d to 5s 6d per pair; best ducks, from 6s to 7s 6d per pair; good cockerels, 4s 6d to 6s per pair; W.L. pullets, to 10s per pair; old ducks, from 2s to 3s per pair. Produce—Peaches, best dessert, from 4s to 6s per half case; cookers, from 2s 6d to 4s per case; plums, from 2s 6d to 8s 9d per case; nectarines, from 5s to 9s per case; apricots, from 8s to 12s per case; tomatoes, from 2s to 4s 6d per quarter case; apples, Astrakhan, from 3s to 4s 6d per halfcase; Gravensteins, from 5s to 7s per bushel; cookers, from 4s to 5s per bushel; pears, from 8s to 10s per bushel; raspberries, from 5s to 10s per tin; black currants, from 6s to 9s per case; cucumbers, from 6s to 11s per case; cauliflowers, from 3s to 3s 9d per case; cabbages, from 3s 9d to 6s per sack; marrows, from Is 3d to 3s per case; beans, from 3s to 6s per bag; peas, from 6s to 9s per hag; lettuce, from 6s to 8s per case; parsnips, from 6s 3d to 7s 3d per case; carrots, from 2s to 4s per dozen bunches; potatoes, from 6s to 8s 6d per cwt.
