BRITISH PRECAUTIONS.
PROPERTY IN CHINA. Received January 24, 12.40 p.m. HONG KONG, Jan. 23. H.M.S. Sandwich has landed a party to protect British property at Wei-Hai-Wei, where looting is feared following the desertion of members of the Chinese Preservation Corps.
