~ STORM IN HAWKE’S BAY. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Jan. 25. A stoim of unusual severity swept Hawke's Bay last night, doing considerable damage to orchards and plantations. 1 Heavy rain fell throughout the night and continues to-day, the rivers rising rapidly. There was no sign of the weather clearing at noon. The rainfall for the 24 hours to 9 o’clock this morning was 94in —a record 24-liour rainfall for Hastings.
