An official secrets ordinance will be invoked for the duration of the Singapore maoeuvres, making the whole of Singapore Island, except virtually the city itself, a prohibited area for photographing, sketching, or touring. NAME A SECRET. MAN WHO PLANNED BASE. Received Januarv 31. 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Jan. 30. Drawing attention to the opening of the Singapore Base on February 11 the Sunday Chronicle points out that the name of the man who planned the base has never lieen revealed. An Admiralty official says the name is “definitely a Cabinet secret.”
