GENEROUS BEQUEST.
LATE MR G. H. BENNETT. INTEREST IN CHURCH WORK. A very generous bequest to St. Paul’s Methodist Church and Sunday school was made known by Rev. Clarence Eaton at the services of tho church yesterday. In the will of the late Mr G. H. Bennett, said Mr Eaton, there was provision lor gifts of £SOO towards the new Sunday school building fund and £IOO in support of St. Paul’s missionary funds. Such beneficence, said Mr Eaton, following a long period of contimfous effort in the Church’s interests, 25 years of which had been given to the service of the children in the Sunday school, had crowned a life of splendid endeavour not soon to be forgotten. The staff of the Sunday school greatly appreciates this gift. As was intimated by Mr Eaton, it is felt that the bequest should bring the realisation of the proposed new Sunday school nearer by at least two years.
