BOY SCOUT TROOP.
Fourteen members of tbe At oodville Boy Scout Troop, under the leadership of Captain Tv. H. Jones (scoutmaster) participated in a mystery bicycle ride on Monday. Patrol-Leader John Harding’s patrol acted as. trail-layers and 'set out at 9.12 a.m., half an hour in advance of the remainder of the party. No difficulty ivas experienced in following the trail, which led to Ashhurst. the “false scent” laid by the advance party proving merely a welcome diversion. The whole party, which was fully equipped and provisioned, lunched in the pleasant surroundings of the Ashhurst Domain. Tlio trip was made at a leisurely pace, giving the boys ample time to observe places and objects of interest, among which were the preparations for the construction of the new bridge on Saddle Road, and the Maori burial ground at the Ashhurst Domain. The scouts arrived home about 5 p.m. after having spent an enjoyable and profitable day.
