WAR IN CHINA.
CLIMAX BELIEVED NEAR
JAPANESE PROBLEMS.
(Rec. 2 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 16. The North American Newspaper Alliance’s Hong Kong correspondent says informed circles believe the SinoJapanese war will reach its climax within a few weeks. The Japanese arc in unmistakeable internal straits because of the growing economic pinch at home and unrest in the field in China. They desire a great push in 1940 before the weather prolongs the campaign into the winter. They are reported to want a good victory to strengthen the morale at homo.
There is no indication that the Chinese are not ready for an attack. If the Chinese can smashingly- defeat the expected blitzkrieg, the Japanese are likely to have the worst winter since their attempt at the new order started.
