CHRISTCHURCH.
Tuesday. Steps are being taken to establish a public chess club here. The Drainage Board are becoming impatient of the delay m the receipt of detailed plans from Mr Carruthers for the drainage of Christchurch. It is considered very important that something should be done m drainage matters before next winter.The Local Board of Health are going welt to work. They have appointed a Njriss^Ge Inspector at £275 per year, ana have decided to appoint a medical officer at £200 a year.
