EXTRAORDINARY REPORT ABOUT PATTI.
A telegram' appeared m the American, journals to the effect that Signora: Pat ti, the great prima donna, ha,d eloped with a tenor singer, -and that her husband, the Marquis de Gaiix, had followed her, and intended .taking legal proceedings. The elopement has been denied, but the following telegram appears m. the Sari Francisco papers: — "New.Tprk, February 24. — A London special denies Patti's elopement, . and says her final quarrel with her husband occurred m the opera-box at St. Petersburg ; that Patti immediately went to the Palace; obtained an audience with the Emperbr, and an brder to the Police to send the Marquis de Caux promptly but; of the country: On reaehimg Paris the Marquis was summoned to answer legal proceedings instituted at Patti's telegraphic orders for* a legal separation; it is said she offers him 100,000 francs for a peaceful separation, which he declines unless :tne terms can be adjusted. On the following evening at the:opera, when Patti made, her appearance, the ladies manifested their displeasure at the prima donna's conduct in -seeking the Marquis's banishment. The ladies occupying the boxes many instances went so far as to; draw the curtains m the boxes on the first tier, m fuli view of the stage. The) ladies went into the corrider while Patti sang." - ; :
