A meeting d£ the Board was held at the E. & C. Aid Corporation Office, Feilding, on Saturday, the 15th December, 1877. ' : PBESENT. Messrs A. F. Halcombe (Chairman), Macarthur, -Cumming, Bartholomew, and Bailey.- . MINUTES. The minutes of the previous .meeting were read and confirmed. ',- TBNDEBS., Tenders were received (by the Chairman) for valuing the district; ' V » Resolved, " That as under ' TJie Eating Amendment Act,- 1877'- (passed since the last meeting of the Board) the duty of appointing valuators rests with the County Council^ the Board' are not m a position to deal with the question.*' , - ,pbti*ionß. ; " i A petition was received from Messrs Pope & Lawton, requesting the Board 'to make a road to their sections. * : , . Eesolved,'VThat the matter be referred to the r Engineer, to report at next meeting." :, ~ Messrs Eobert Lankshear and others' petition, which was received by the Board at the last meeting, was taken into considerationi ■•■■,. Eesolved, " That the Board is unable to entertain , the application/ > v MISCELLANEOUS. BUSINESS. ' Eesolved, '* That the Engineer be instructed to ascertain the cost of putting culverts m creek near Kussell street,; and to arrange to get the work done at a cost not exceeding r Resolved, *"That Mr Cumming be autKorised to employ labor to repair the Eawkawa Road." , ■
