AUCKLAND.
Saturday. Vane's Harbor View Restaurant and wharf were totally destroyed by fire early this morning. Although there was a twostorey building m close proximity, and other wooden houses, the efficiency of the brigades and water supply confined the fire to the building where it orignatecl. It was insured for £'$00 m the Norwich Union. 1
Tlie charred remaius of tlie body of a man were discovered after the fire, Identity not yet certain. They are believed to be those of an old trams.
