MR. THYNNE AND THE PRESS.
TO THB EDITOE. Sir,— -Amidst the mass of verbiage reported by you as having been spoken by Mr Thynne at his meeting, there is one sentence upon which I would offer a remark. He said' by implication that if he and ; Dawson— arcades amb6-~ were not returned; Foxton would cease to bethe County. town, and as a sequence we wouldlose our local paper! What does it mean P Surely it cannot be that the Herald is the organ of the Twins, and that if they -are relegated hack to obscurity, there will be no further need for a Merald to trumpet^ forth their praises ? "Perish the thought 1 and still it looks very much lite it. Can. you Sir^ enlighten me ? J pause for a reply ! «^-lam,&c.i $W ' r : : : SOEBW*TATB». ■ Foxton, Nov. ,6th. .
