House assembled at 2.30. The Minister o£ Lands said -that the minimum price of deferrod payments was thirty shillings an acre. On the motion o| the "No.cojafidence"being resumedj Mr. Barfi^ spohe against the Government, and said all the departments had become disarranged. "Vvfith reference to the Native disturbance, he blamed the Government for noi hAvi])^ placed . the confiscated, landa qa basis. Dr. Wallis defended the Ministry, saying that the opposition had no right •to speak, as instead of having a policy, it was quite the other way $nd they were completely mixed up. As he held that.it would be dangerous to oust the Government, he had determined ta give them his support, and wbula\ vote, for them. Mr. Gishorno dwelt upon the policy of the Government for some time» and contended that it was only to promote the welfare, of the Colony. He agreed that the charges made against the Government were of a trumpery nature, and if the spposition had a policy it was that of' taking possession of the Treasury Benches. The House then adjourned until eAening.
