In Canterbury, potatoe sales of large lots have taken place considerably under £2. Wailcato potatoes likewise are affected by the glut, and sold m lines at £2 5s and £2 10s. Oainaru potatoes arc still m favor, and prices maintained at wholesale quotations, £4 to £4 5s per ton. Maise is m plentiful supply from the coast, and rules at 3s 2d to 3s 4d m lines. Fijian about 3<- 6d, and Sydney 3s. Oats remain about last quotations, and fairly supplied. M'd'ins* harle.v sold at 3s per bushel ; f*ed barley, 3s to 2-* 3d. In gio.eriei and oil men's stores there i« no alteration worthy of note, on account of competition ; sugar has been reduced 10s per ton, T.C. is quoted at £38 10s. d.p. Candles, J.D.R.'s are placed at B : |d. A line of salt changed hands recently at £4 per toil, coarse and fine.
