THE KELLY SYMPATHISERS.
As we expected, the contemptible attempt on the piirl. of a morbid mob, led on by the notorious G-aunsojt, to crca':e a sen ti men il sympathy for Ned Kelly, ended m a miserable failure ; and it is pleasing to hear that the stump orator who endeavored to lower Viftoria m the eves of the world , and dr.-ig her name through the mire, will meet, with a CM in-; punishment for his bid for popularity. It is expected that his conduct will bo brought up m the House, and a vote of censure passed upon his aclion. It is also interesting to hear that MVs. Joxes, of the G-lenroWiin Hotel, m which the Kkx.lt Gsin« met. their death, has been am'sted for h-irb. ring the Ktjlt^s. Society from Boli?Ha to Beech worth was more or less'inoculated with the ""sv.npathy " — whether induced by fear or interest — and it was the opinion of a great many that Mrs. j'oxES had played a not unwilling part.
