THE LATEST FROM THE GOLDFIELD.
We have been informed that a second crushing of quartz from the Fttzherberfc Reef took place on last Saturday evening, and if report speaks truly, the results were beyond the most sanguine expectations. It is said that a lump of quartz about two pounds weight was crushed and yielded a piece of solid gold about the size of a barley corn. Although, we have not this information from Mr. Deards, it is from a source upon which we can place reliance. We have been further informed that although Mr. Otto Tiller has certainly gone out m company with Mi*. Henry G-oodisson, his object is not to assist that gentleman m taking possession of the reef, but to act m concert with the original party. The prevailing opinion n the district is that a really payable reef has been discovered. We understand that another party under the command of an experienced bushman and skilled geologist, sUu-ted yesterday, m order to thoroughly test the genuineness of the rumors.
