Mr S. Hollister, Who hasjrecf ntly been digging at Terawbiti, claims to hate made an important discovery much nearer town, nothing less m fact than a quartz reef gmng • prospect o£ gold, on land of Mr Pharazyn's adjacent to the Botanical Gardens, and facing the Karori-road. He says the reef, which is of a so:b bluish s-^ne, averages abont six feet wide on the surface caa be traced forlSOyardi; and that he has obtained permission from the ewner of the land t« QP«* a B l* im th « re » and there, and thoroughly test the^ discovery. Stone of the stone crushed with a hammer and panned off has yielded a very fair prospeot of fine gold Should the discovery lead to, the results Mr Hollister anticipates, it is his intention to form a inaa]! cojnpany te work the grounds.
