MONDAY'S ELECTION.

We wish to draw the especial attention of all householders to the fact that the annual election for school committeemen will take plaoe all over the district on Monday evening next, at seven o'clock, and we sinoerely trust that more interest and vitality will be exhibited m the proceedings than has hitherto been the case. Although tJie Manawatu has escaped a good deal of the bickerings and quarrels which have characterised the Government by oom' mittees m the past year ; still candor oompels us to say that m many cases the selections might have been improved upon. Notwithstanding that Palmerston has as large, if not a larger stock of material from which to seleot its school representatives than any other placp, at the two last elections there was not more than one elector present m excess of the seven required, We trust it will he different on Monday, and that tho parents will attend, and elect tbe men they deem, most fitting forthe ojftoe,
