The third, contest for the Prize Cup, presented by Sergeant Butcbelar to be shot for by members of the '/almerstda Riflles, came off on Saturday afternoon. The } day was fine but windy, and there were no less than thirteen compe itora. The conditions Upon* which the Cup was to be competed for were — that it was to.be won tbre& times ia succeseion, . and if the scorer of two winss failed to secure a third m succession hia previons yictbries went for nothing, and he? had to commence anew. In the two previous matches, Volunteer Snow succeeded m reaching the highest number, und had h& succeeded m doing so on Saturday, the Cup would henceforth have been his undisputed property. However, the fates were against him, and he was. seven behind. the winner —a position secured by Sub-tieutenant Pirani, with 42 points. The score made: by Private Bush is 'somewhat remarkable as it by no means reaches even half of thac mad© by him upon, other occasions, for which he has been, allotted a marksman'a baige.
