THE AWAHURI SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, The Committee of the Awahuri School, held' their usual monthly., meeting last Wednesday, when it was unanimously reeo'ved hy a fnll meeting that a change of masters was necessary, there being over 70 children on the books. It was deemed expedient that a certificated teacher should be appointed, and that the Wanganui Board ha requested to comply with the wishes of the Committte In order to counteract tLis, the master Mr Milsom, is taking round a petition, stating be is a competent teacher. He has. induced two comnritteemen to stultify themselves by signing same, but neither of them, have children attending the school.' I think when the Government spend *uch vast sums on education, it ill becomes them, to appoint incompetent teach* rs, wbVn there are so many good m«'n to be had-. I hear several fathers of families have stated that if a change is not soon m *de they will withdraw their children. — lam, &c, Patib Familias.
