PORT CHALMERS, Last Night. Capt, M'Callum has just received a telegram from the Heads stating that the Peruvian oarque Fray Bentos has been anchored Outside the Heads m six fathoms of water. Pilot Patchpn is on board, bdt the Captain will do nothing for bim. He will neither shift out nor run for safety, and the ship is m danger. Coxswain Milne requests Captain M'Callum tp communicate with the agents. A signal has just been run up from ihe Fray Be-qtos to the effect that some one hat been drowned.
