" Your Committee having m concert with a committci of the .'.egis':Uive Coir cil, obtained a great am»i*nt of information on the subject of tho Rabbit Nuisauce from many persons, and from many parts of ihe Colony, has agreed that a measure calculated to deal more effectually with tbe nuisance as required ; and threfore recommend that, a Bill be introduced m the Session, whioh shall provide that ths ?d---ministvation shall be conducted by ofliee.. s of the Government on a principle similar to that by ivhich the provisions of the Sh-ep Act, 1878, are enforced : and that al! unoccupied Grown Land?, as well as priv?.' 2 land shall heai' Lheir proportional • sua'e of the cost of destroying rabbits, and the exr jnses of administering the Act ; and that prov'sion should made therein for the protection of the natural enemie3 of the rabbit, a* present m the Co'ony.
