MASONIC.
Last Tuesday being the festival of St. John, the United Manawatu No. 1721 E.C., met at their Hall in Main street f r purpose of installing their Officers for the ensuing year. The Worshipful Master of the Rangitikei Lodge (C. L. Mclean) with his Officers and Brethren, accompanied by the Worshipful Master, Officers and Brethren of the Feilding Lodge attended to assist in the ceremonies. Many visiting Brethren from Wanganui, Foxton, and elsewhere were also present. The ceremony of installation was performed in a most admirable manner b the retiring W.M. (Eliot Warburton) who was ably assis ed by P.M's. C. L. Maclean and W J. Batt, Past D G.L.S.B. Acting Director of the ceremonies. The officers installed were as follow : — Brothers, P.M. Robt North Keeling to be W.M ; H. J. Hayns to be S. W. ; A. S. M. ; Nannestad, J.W, ; L. R. Bryant, S.D. ; H. W. Haybittle, J.D. ; T. S. Hoe, I.G. ; O. Tiller, 0.G. ; John Octavius Batchelar, Treasurer, and Duncan Poole, Secretary. In the evening a goodly number of the brethren and their friends again assembled at the Hall, and until the small hours of the morning passed away a most enjoyable time.
