WOODROOFE V. WILSON.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — " When Greek meets Greek, then comes the tug of war !" 1 hear that Woodroofe intends to keep all the money that he got for the debts, namely £30. So the Pamerston creditors will get nothing after all I and it serves them quite right top, for their sharp practice ; and J hope it will teach them a useful lesson for the future. If they had sent their bills to me personally, I would have paid every penny, as Messrs Kerslake, Batt, and others who did so can testify. Luckily for \Voodroofe, he withdrew the case last Monday, or I should fiave proceeded agajnst him for perjury, he having j sworn that certain amounts were owing, when the; were not ; and lam perfectly astonished at two of the tia4espeople of Palmerston, who held my. promissory notes, making over their debts to Woodroofe, when those debts were not due ! At any rate, if Woodroofe keeps all that Messrs Buckley, Stafford, and Fitzherbert pay him out of the £30 I paid them, it will teach the cute PaimerstonianH a lesson they will perhaps not easily forget ; and I rejoice to think that, with all their cunning, they will from all accounts, get nothing. Tours, Ac., E. C. Wilsok. Wellington, February 9, 1883.
