MR FORBES' VISIT.

Mr Archibald Forbes' visit is creating very great interest m the district, and people are on the tiptoe of excitement as to the great War Correspondent. Hardly another man m the world has seen what Forbes has seen, and his position as War Correspondent of the great London Daily News, is a guarantee that he can tell what he has seen m brilliant and effective style. The newspaper correspondent is an irrepressible individual, here, there and everywhere, gathering news. But Forbes was not content to hear from . others of battles, and dangers ; ho saw the battles himself, and braved the dangers, and wherever the English language is spoken the name of Forbes is known and "respected. The leeturex)n Saturday night, at/ tHe Foresters' Hall, will be 1 on his " Experiences as a War Correspondent," and will include extracts from other lectures, as he will be here for one night only. His story for sensationalism and vividness heats the most interesting works of fiction, and people after hearing his tragic nar« rative, go away impressed with the old truth that after all truth isstranger than fiction. Particulars as to price of admission, &c,, will be found m another column. Persons wishing to have private seats, and' prevent crushing by the crowd, may obtain tickets for reserved scats at Mrs Dungan's shop. Only a very small number of reserved chairs are to be proyided, and early; application for them will' therefore .be necessary.
