MIDDLE ISLAND. 100,000 SbEEPERS; TTTRITTEN TENDERS will be V V received at this office up to noon on Tuesday, 17th April, 1883 for the supply and delivery of 100,000 Sleepers, or for any smaller number not less than 5,000, to be i delivered to extent as follows, at the different places mentioned below : — Waikari, 20,000 ; Christchurch, 10,000; Timaru, 10,000; Dunedin, 15,000; Kelso, 10,000; Invereargill, 10,000 ; and alongside railway line Riverton to Orepnki, 25,000. They are to be addressed to the Hon the Minister for Public Works, Dunedin, and marked, " Tender for Sleepers, Middle Island Railways," on outside of envelope. Telegraphic Tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by noon of tho same date, provided that written tenders m due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour. Specifications may be seen, at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invereargill ; and at the Post Offices, Palmerston North, Havelock, Tapanui, and Hiverfcon.
