Yesterday's Wellington. Mail.
T^e usual Wellington mail did not arrive last night, nqr this morn* ing. Ii appears tfye coach yesterday rqet with quite a chapter of accidents. In con^in,^ up the Horokiwi valley several goats ran out and f raghtened the horses, which swerved violently, causing a breakage of the pole. This was temporarily repaired, and'the' coach , was got as far as P&ikalcariln. Shortly after, leaving that plage., fyowever, another mishap acquired, ane of the reins, breaking. The result was that the horses and vehicle, jjqon. got considerably m,ixed, until it was almost impossible to tell " t'other, from which.'* Th,e coachman then detern^ine^ t<^ Hde on to Otaki, out w,ith a very poqr, s'e,nse, of the fitness of things, brought on the Foxton mail bag only prpbabiy,' because it was the lightest, fiowevei*, the anil wjil be sure to arrive th,is evening.
