Fire at Turakina.
At about 11.30 last night a fire broke put in Grwynne's Hotel at Turakina, which resulted in the destruction of the entire building, nothing but the chimneys being left standing this morning. The fire is said to have occurred through the bursting of a kerosene lamp in the bar. The flames quickly ignited the spirits and the fire spread with such rapidity that nothing could be saved, the occupants escaping with their lives only. The building is said to be insured for £800 ; the furniture for £300; and stock in trade £50.
