Masonic.
The annual installation of W.M. and investiture of office bearers of Feilding Lodge E.C., took place last evening, the ceremony commencing at 9 o'clock. The W.M. elect, Bro. W. G. Haybittle, was installed in accordance with ancient usage by Bro. T. King, P.M of the United Manawatu Lodge, and it is needless to say that the work was well carried out. Bro. Keeling P.M. acted as Master of Ceremonies, and also acquitted himself to the admiration of those present. The newly-in-stalled W.M. then invested his own officers as follows :— Bro. H. Booth, S.W ; A. Dawson, J.W ; P. Bartholomew, Treas. ; T. W. K. Forster, sec ; J. Stevens, S.D. and P. Thompson, J.D. The various lodges in the Manawatu under both constituencies were well represented. The ceremony was greatly improved and rendered more impressive by the excellent music discoursed by Bro E. W. Perkins who acted as organist, and whose efficiency as such is well-known to the craft in in Palmerston. After the ceremony a ball was held at which about forty couples were present, dancing being kept up till about 4 a.m.
