MUFT* is by the premier stallion, Traducer, who hßs for the last three seasons stood at 100 guineas a mare. Traducer's stock have every* where performed creditably, and include such noted [animals as Lurline, Calumny, Le Loup. Betrayer, Trump Card, Fishhook, and others. Traducer's pedigree is a very brilliant one, as it includes all tbe most valued strains of the English stud of the last century. On the dam's side Mufti is also remarkably well connected, being out of Flat Iron by Peter Flat— Emma by GiJ Blrf— Emily by Operator — Flora M'lvor by Rouse s Emigrant, &c. Peter Flat was one of the most successful performers that has, left England, and pdssessses a splendid pedigree (see Stud Book). Flora M'lvor was one o the best mares ever foaled m Australia «nd her defendants ate always eagerly sought after by breeders and racing men. Flora was the grand dam of Figaro, Bay Middleton, Cossack; Nutwith, Zoe, and Waimea— the latter being the dam of Manuka, Toi Toi, and others. Toi toi is the dam of Kakapo, Harakeke— dam of Kotari, Totara— sire of Longlands, Papapa, Rama Kama and other wellknown performers. It will thus be seen that Mufti is well worthy of the patronage of breeders who wish to keep to racing strains. Mufti is a golden chestnut, standing 15 bands 3 inches high, and is spendidly proportioned, and of excellent constitution. Lurline, 4yrs, Bst 9lbs ; Tarnbourini, 9st 6lbs ; Malvina, Bst 91bs; and Templeton. 7«t 21bs, also ran. MORPHEUS is a go Hen chestnut, stands 16 hands 3 inches : thoroughly Round m all respects- He is 6 years old, and by that fast and well known horse Castaway, dam Somnamhula by Towton, dam Opera by II Barbiere, dam Cassandra by Priam ; Towton by Melbourne ; Castaway by Traducer, dam Mermaid. Morpheus cornea from a great racing, family, claiming some aristocratic *nd high-claw performers as his relatives. His sire won the Wellington Cup and ran second for the Canterbury Derby and Great Autumn Handi* cap. He is full brother to Lurline and Le Loup. The performances oi these animals m New Zealand and Australia need no comment. La Loup won the Canterbury J. C. Handicap and Cup m 1880. Opera, grand dam of Morpheus, wou the Canterbury Derby m 1864. Tambourini was also from Opera, by Towton, and won amongst other races the Canterbury J, C. Handicap and Canterbury and Wellington Cups, besides performing successfully over hurdles. Salvage, by Castaway, ran second for the Wellington last year, giting the winner a year and a pound. Won the Great Autumn Handicap at Christ* church, and ran necond to Adamant for the Dunedin Cup giving the winner two years and twenty -four, pounds.
