The Daily Times. The Oldest Manawatu Jounal: Established 1875. THURSDAY, DEC. 6, 1883.
" Live and Let Live " —Your letter will appear to-raorrow. Further additions are made to Messrs Stevens and Gordon's sale list for Tuesday next. Mr J. E. Nathan, of Wellington, is at present on a visit to Palmerston. A quantity of local matter is omitted owing to pressure of Borough Council and Court reports. We regret to notice that the mother of Mc W. Cumming, ot Raukawa, Stoney Creek, who has been residing with her son for some years past, died this morning, aged 61 years. The Good Templar election of officers and installation did not take place on Tuesday, owing to the inclement weather. It will take place next Tues« day, when the Feilding Lodge will pay a fraternal visit. As some interest is being aroused m Family Bibles, we notice Mr Park advertises, them at 80s, 40s, and 70s, the latter being the best issued. Easy terms may alto be arranged. Surely this is better thau paying L4 to hawkers for a less valuable article. Inspection is specially invited. It is reported that Mr Dawson, Manager of the Bank of Australasia at Fejlding, is about to resign, and that he will be succeeded by Mi* Webster, accountant of the Wanganui branch, who has been m temporary charge at Patea. if this rumour is Correct we. heartily congratulate Mr Webster on his well-deserved promotion, and the Feilding people on gaining such an acquisition to their business and souia circles.— Chronicle.
