Death of Mr J. Monteith.

Per Press Association. Wellington, tikiis da.yl A melancholy fatality occurred at nine o'clock last night. Mr Jacob Monteith, a well known and highly respected chemist caiTying on business m this city, was supplying some medicine to a customer, when he complained of being seized with a sudden pain. He retired for a moment and not reappearing search was made, and he was found m the yard vomiting, and m great pain. He was removed and medical aid sent for. The cause of death is at present" unknown, but a postmortem will be made to-day.
