The Child Murder Case.

Per Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 8. In the Supreme Court the case of child murder against Kate Boyle occupied the Court the whole day. At 6 o'clock tbe jury returned with a verdict of guilty, but while m a state of insanity. His Honor said this Was tantamount to a verdict of not guilty. The foreman intimated that the jury did not wish to entirely exonerate prisoner, and they again retired to further consider tbeir verdict, and have not yet returned. Later. At 10.15 to-night tbe jury m tbe child murder case returned a verdict of " Not Guilty, with a plea of insanity." His Honor ordered the prisoner to be kept m strict custody until the Colonial Secretary's pleasure should be known.
