RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
At the R.M. Court yesterday, before J. Waldegrave, Esq., J.P., Thomas Symonds, charged with a breach of the Licensing Act, 1881, by refusing to quit the Royal Hotel when ordered to do so, was fined 40s m default of payment diistress to be levied, and m default of distress one week's imprisonment. The same person was also fined 20s, m default 24 hours' imprisonment for disorderly conduct while drunk. Mr Waldegrave again occupied the Bench this morning, when Harry Sykes, a bttshman, was fined 20s or 48 hours' imprisonment for being drunk yesterday. — Julia M'Gonagle r well known character, was charged with vagrancy, on a summons. As defendant did not appear she was arrested, and brought, before Mr Waldegrave this afternoon and sentenced to three month's imprisonment m Wanganui Gaol.
