The Daily Times. The oldest Manawatu journal : Established 1875. TUESDAY, JAN. 29, 1884.

The valuation list of the Borough of Palmerston North for the current year is now open for inspection at the Council Chambers. The total valuation amounts to £18,972, as against £18,540 for last year. Should the valuation be allowed to stand as made, the revenue from rates will be increased by £21 12s on the general rate, aud £1 18s on the library rate, the increase m the valuation being £432. It is very unlikely, however, that the valuation will remain intact, and the Assessment Court will probably reduce the total to even less than last year.
